Last year, the in2CRICKET (previous Have-A-Go) CRICKET CENTRE CHATSWOOD Programme proved most popular and we look forward to the coming season with a great deal of enthusiasm. The general aim of our Centre is for all players to have the opportunity to participate, learn as much as possible about how to play the great game of cricket and, most importantly, to have fun while doing it. Cricket is more than just a game it’s a way of life!
The in2C program is parent run and designed to identify and develop not just future players but also administrators and support staff to run the game in the future.
So, do not delay your registration and sign up now!

Programme Details
1. The programme runs over fifteen (15) Saturday mornings at Beauchamp Park, Nicholson St, Chatswood from 18 October until 13 December 2008 and following the school holidays, from 31 January until 07 March 2009.
2. Each session lasts 90 minutes from 8 - 9.30am on the above Saturday mornings.
3. The players are divided into “teams” of about ten players each. They practise their cricketing skills during the first half of the session and, following a drinks break, play a modified game during the second half of the session.
4. There are four skills stations set up for batting, bowling, fielding and ball-skills. Each team spends about ten minutes at each location before moving on to the next station. While the emphasis is on having fun, the players are importantly improving their respective cricket skills in a safe and secure environment under the supervision of competent coaches.
5. All equipment necessary is provided. The normal school sports pants & footwear should be worn with a hat and sunscreen for protection from the sun plus the special HAG Centre shirt which must be purchased. A drink for consumption at the mid session break is advisable.
6. As all communication will be conducted by Internet, it is important that each family provides an active email address which should be regularly checked for messages. A regular electronic newsletter will be circulated with useful information and pertinent cricketing news. (Email: MBerman@bigpond.net.au)
7. Milo Have-A-Go is a national programme run by Cricket Australia in all States to introduce the national pastime to Aussie kids. The current programme also actively seeks to increase the participation of girls plus players from Indigenous and Multi-ethnic communities in the great game of cricket. http://cricket.com.au/default.aspx?s=in2cricket

The shirt size required should be clearly marked on the following HAG Cricket Centre Chatswood Registration Form to assist correct fitting.

Parent Participation
You will note that there is space on the registration form to nominate for coaching and other roles in the Chatswood HAG Cricket Centre. Participation of parents in these various roles is essential to run a viable and successful programme. Towards this end, Parent Inservice sessions will be held on Sunday 13 and 20 September from 9.00 to 10.00am at the Pavilion, Beauchamp Park. Further courses for coaches will also be run by Cricket NSW and details will be provided to interested parents. Do give your attendance at these courses your earnest consideration.
We look forward to you joining us for another enjoyable season of cricket.
