 Gordon Under 12 Blues
The 2005/2006 season has unfolded in an enjoyable and rewarding way for the Gordon Under 12 Blues.
Blending players with considerable experience with some newcomers to the game, the Blues have emerged as a highly competitive unit who have proven their capability of mixing it with any of the teams in the competition.
The overall team and individual players have experienced some tremendous highlights, including:
- A recent successful run chase of 210 (a record for the team) to defeat one of the top teams.
- Mathilda Carmichael continuing here barnstorming ways including obtaining a top score of 67 not out (a record for the team) and accumulating in excess of 450 runs for the season.
- A 94 run partnership between Nick Wynne and Jackson Martin in the first game of the season (a record for the team).
- Hauls of 4/4 for both Tate Benham and Shobhit Khanna (a team record) in separate games.
- The continued emergence of Corbin Edgar as the teams ‘Mr Cricket’ – a talented all rounder with ice cool temperament.
- Mark Williams developing into a patient and skilled top order batsman who almost inevitably provides a strong foundation for the team score.
- A match winning partnership of 55 between Ben Lyon and Rohan Rathod who skills with bat and ball have developed significantly over the season.
- The continued growth of Daniel McMahon as a hard hitting all rounder who is capable of winning a match with either his batting or bowling.
- Daniel Hughes emergence as one of the team’s top wicketkeepers, but who is equally capable of keeping the batsmen guessing with his subtle leg spinners.
- Regular match winning performances by Charlie Long with both bat and ball, and his development as a potential strong captain.
- The excellent, consistent performances of James Sloan who has shown himself capable of developing into difficult to handle fast bowler
The season has one of great enthusiasm and enjoyment and all the players and overall the team has carried the Stags hat proudly. It will be great to watch the continued development of all the players over the forthcoming years.
