Fantasy League Reveal 6 - The Final Reveal - 2007/08

After a thrilling finish to the 1st Grade season, it is time to reveal, for the last time this season, the Fantasy League results and crown the winner for 2007/08. For those of you out there playing in the competition this year, the players with the big bucks against their name have really come through. Having an array of 1st graders in your side would have put you up towards the top of the leaderboard. However, you would have also had to have a couple of bargain basement players that performed well throughout the season.

As predicted in the last update, the league results have been influenced by those players who have had a few more games towards the back end of this season. With 1st Grade and 4th Grade playing in the finals the leaderboard has produced some surprising results. If you've got this far... scroll down. Congratulations to Sam Ranney, Tony Wilson and Brendan McDonald for taking out the top three places. It is also interesting to note that this year that the honours between parents and their boys was shared. The Stephenson family and the Colley family saw the older and wiser heads get up, but the Archer and Cubbage families saw those closer to the action benefit from the Christmas trading period.

Fittingly, at least according the Richie Kenner when asked to comment on an advanced viewing of the results, Shenal Siriwardhene found himself on the bottom of the heap. Kenner was quoted as saying "He lacked committment to club functions... probably wouldn't have known half the players in his side". It is only fair, after such a serve, that Shenal is given his entrance fee back - to get into the next club function.

Medcalf and Hokin, players up the top of the leaderboard in its inaugrual year have found themselves in the bottom half this year, with Medcalf only sitting marginally above Shenal. Kenner, who found himself in the top ten this year, was quoted as saying "Jammy Gits" before uttering something about Higgins insatiable appetite for Guy Hicks.

Nevertheless, for those at the top of the leaderboard, Sam Ranney has picked up $300, Tony Wilson's $50 investment has returned $100 (much more than any of his horses) and Brendan McDonald has received $50.
