 Can Hoppa reach 500 wickets and 5000 runs?
Club stalwart Ed Howitt reaches the double of 400 wickets and 4000 runs.
It was a wet outfield and you needed someone with a lot experience to make the most of the conditions. Having started playing for Gordon in 1990 as a 5 year old, I guess you could say Ed Howitt was experienced.

The first wicket on Saturday was the important one for the record books when Ed went from 399 to 400 wickets. The remaining 4 however were just as important to Ed as they gave his team the chance of a victory and the opportunity to sing the song again for his beloved Gordon club.
This wasn’t to be so the beer didn’t taste as nice, however at least satisfying to reach a milestone very few Gordon cricketers will reach.
In fact if Hoppa can go to the next level of 5,000 runs and 500 wickets he will be one of only 4 Gordon cricketers to achieve this feat, the others being Graham King (1949 to 1982) Charlie Macartney (1905 to 1934) and Col Ashton (1943 to 1973).
