Chris Archer to make first grade debut as week one replacement
20 year old left arm orthodox spinner Chris Archer has been chosen to play first grade on the first Saturday of Round 8 against Parramatta at Chatswood. Chris is playing as a replacement for Beau Casson who is on Pura Cup duty in Melbourne. Chris has bowled well in recent Poidevin Gray and second grade matches and deserves his chance in the higher grade.
Chris will return along with Adair Durie to second grade the following Saturday when Beau and Matt Nicholson are available again.
Chris joined the club last year and was a member of the third grade side that made the final and has been honing his skills in the Under 21 Academy Squad this year under the guidance of Beau Casson.
Chris lives on the central coast and has been a member of the Academy for three years and is the 15th Academy member to now play first grade.
Chris’s Dad, Bob will have to forego his second grade scoring duties to watch his son at Chatswood.
The club wishes him all the best and we are sure he will give a very good account of himself.
The first grade team for week one of this round is:
