 GDCC Fantasy League 2007/08
Welcome to the 2007/08 GDCC Fantasy League Competition. After a successful inaugural season, with Rod Hokin walking away with the major prize, there has been a little bit of tweaking to the rules for this season. Remember, the Fantasy League is open to anyone and everyone. It was developed in order to help foster an interest in other players - your Gordon club mates - throughout the season and encourage them to perform.
The cost of entering the competition will remain at $10 per team, with some great prizes and a trophy on offer for the winning fantasy team. Payment MUST be made by the completion of the Round 3. Failure to do so will see teams torn up. You can enter as many teams into the competition as you would like.
However, with all players trying to get an edge over others, payments made for teams prior to the start of the season (Saturday 22nd September) will see those teams allowed an extra $30,000 budget. Think of the players you can trade up to with an extra few thousand to play with.
The electronic team sheet will be placed on the website by Friday 14th Sept and will be emailed to all players and supporters. Details will be provided about to whom this need to be returned and bank details for the monetary deposits. Note: The team sheet MUST be in by the start of Round 1. Payment
The Fantasy League competition has been set and organised by Dylan Connell on behalf of the Social Committee and for payment purposes you can either give cash to Dylan or one of the social committee. Dylan has also set up a separate account for the competition and you can pay via the internet to the following account:

Make sure you put in your name as the “remitter” for reconciliation purposes. You can also send in your team or teams by mail and send a cheque made out to Dylan Connell A/c 517345757.
As mentioned before, all teams must be lodged by 9:30am on Saturday 22nd September, therefore if you are sending in via mail make sure you do it in time. An official receipt will be sent to all fantasy league players and your scores will be monitored via the website.
Rules
The rules for the competition are as follows:
Each squad has a budget of $1,000,000. ($1,030,000 if fees paid prior to commencement)
You must select 12 players containing 5 batsmen, 4 bowlers, 1 wicket keeper and 2 all rounders.
Each squad must have a nominated captain who scores double points for each round.
Players must be selected from the player spreadsheet and must only be chosen in the positions already allocated to them.
Squads must be submitted prior to the commencement of play on Saturday the 22nd of September either electronically or hardcopy.
There will be one transfer window, which will be between Sunday the 23rd of December and 7pm Friday the 11th of January. During this time 3 players can be changed within your initial squad. Any substitutions made must still fall within the original squad rules. You may also change the captaincy of your team at this time.
All 12 players within the squad score points for their onfield performances for Gordon during the 2007/08 cricket season. Note: 1st Grade one dayers and Poidevin-Gray Shield games are included.
Points are awarded as follows:
1 point for every run scored
20 points for every wicket taken
10 points for every catch taken or stumping made
1 point for every maiden bowled in 2 day game
2 points for every maiden bowled in 1 day game
25 points for a partnership of 100 for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th wicket.
25 points for a partnership of 50 or more for the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th wickets

NOTE: The Fantasy League Team has endeavoured to ensure that the list at time of publication was up-to-date. However, we are unable to guarantee that all players have made it on to the list and that all the players on the list will be playing throughout the season. It is up to you, as part of your interest in the club, to ensure that your 12 players will help you obtain the maximum amount of points this season. If your name does not appear on the list, please contact the Fantasy League Team as soon as possible.
