Congratulations to our victorious 3rd and 5th Grade sides. What a stunning display of bowling by Adair Durie and Matt Selby to defeat the Students and Saints respectively, with many more handy contributions from the batsmen in both sides.

More importantly for some followers, the points those two gentlemen racked up, along with Livermore and the perennial earner Monaghan, have impacted the final makeup of the Fantasy League for 2012/13.

It's not worth drawing it out any further, the results are all listed below. In the end, Howitt's "Ruby's XI" were well in front, with "Louis's XI" almost locking out the front row of the grid. When all was said and done, his 4 sides were in the top 10. If the rumours are true and he hangs up the boots, bat and ball... then perhaps a full-time selection role may be in the offing.

At the other end, after scoring too well in the previous round, Perry's side found itself back "in the money"... all $10 of it... occupying 3rd last place. The chairman of selectors, whilst having a team in 5th place, found another entry anchored to the bottom. As to who was in his side... we'll leave it to you to start the rumours.

Finally, the distribution of prize money will be done in the following manner:
1st place - 50%
2nd place - 20%
3rd place - 10%
Knockout - 20%
3rd last - Get your money back

As 3rd and 5th Grade progressed, the semi finals were the penultimate round in the Fantasy League. Unfortunately for some contenders, the Colts failed to overcome North Sydney and this has left their teams with further issues coming into the Grand Final round. Jason and David Leiboff will no longer be racking up points for their teams.

At the end of last round we saw Howitt's "Ruby's XI" take an almost unassailable lead. Whilst it was chipped away at in the semis, it would appear to most it is all over bar the shouting.

At the other end, Perry's side found itself earning too many points this round to continue to occupy 3rd last place, the money position. Clem's old man George is looking to collect his money back if positions remain the same.

The march into March continues with four Gordon teams making the Qualifying Finals. With the top two teams unable to get enough wins to progress, some of the top point scorers, such as Harry Evans, Elliot Richtor, Julian Stephenson, James Kennedy and Dan Smith, will no longer be contributing to the sides they're in.

This has already had an affect on some teams, with them slipping down the leaderboard shown below.

Now that we've progressed into the final few weeks, and have point the 2012/13 knockout competition behind us, it's time to focus on the aggregate competition. 

At the end of last round we saw Howitt's sides treading water and one of them, Conner's XI, has been overtaken by the late run of Cubbage's side. However, Ruby's XI has had a fantastic round and pulled out to a 300 point lead. The fight for 2nd and 3rd is well and truly alive, with 2nd to 4th place separated by 40 points.

At the other end, Perry's side has found itself occupying 3rd last place, the money position, and the fight will be on to maintain it and get his money back.

The final round, a one-dayer, and with it, the conclusion of the knockout competition for 2012/13. With a couple of late season performers, it was 3 vs 4 - Cubbage vs Millar.

Unlike the previous rounds, the rain didn't have an effect on the matches against the Sydney Tigers.

However, 4th Grade played an interrupted game and this may just have been the reason for the difference between the two combatants. With a slender margin, Millar's side - Donuts XI - took the crown for this year.

But onto the main competition and Ed Howitt's sides are again treading water as they stagnate at the top. There is a real chance that Cubbage's form will see them leapfrog those sides as the finals progress.

Yet with the top two sides missing out on finals, and Harry Evans no longer bringing in the big points for many sides, it will be left to the lower grade selections to sort out the final rankings.

Results from Round 15 - Winner in Bold

Yet another round was visited by the rain gods, and Round 14 was rain interrupted again. This has had a particularly savage affect on Tony Wilson's 30-odd teams and a handful of others, by virtue of their players being most affected. Other teams have had the rub of the green and made some leaps and bounds up the leaderboard. This has seen Ed Howitt's sides' leads cut by Adam Cubbage, Dave Millar and Pete Colley.

In that vein, "Cubby's Lads" has continued to perform strongly at the back end of the season and has booked the owner a place in the knockout final against Donuts XI, which will be resolved at the end of Round 15.

In the overall competition, the finals will be the difference. With 2nd Grade out of finals contention, players in that side will quickly become dead weight in the sprint to the line.

A rain interrupted Round 13 has left its mark on the knockout competition. Some teams managed to get a bat, whilst others had a chance with ball in hand. Some teams scored well. Others missed out badly.

We're almost there. Here are the results from the Sutherland round, which was a rain-interrupted game in which some sides played 2-day matches in one day, while others played 50-over matches. Howitt (Jnr) and Tiddles had locked out the top 4 at the end of last round. However, a great performance by "Cubby's Lads" have seen them surge up the leaderboard and into 4th place.
