Message from the President

This year we have had the largest 'intake' of new players to the Club in more than ten years. I sincerely welcome all new players who attended pre-season selection trials and hope each one enjoys a long and successful career with Gordon.

While there are a few 'old heads' who have been around for a number of seasons, on the playing fields we are a very young club. The General Committee, through our Cricket Committee and Academy, sees it as our responsibility to 'teach' the young players how to be successful top-grade cricketers and, to this end, we have again increased our investment in coaching. The Club is extremely fortunate to have regular access to a number of former Test and Sheffield Shield players and a host of experienced former 1st Graders. These people are the 'best in the business' ' no other Men's Grade Club offers such comprehensive guidance and experienced assistance to its players from Under 16's to 1st Grade.

Complementing the Men's Grade Club, the GDCC offers cricket to all people of all ages. From 'in2Cricket' (for the 5 to 8 year olds) through the Gordon Junior Cricket Club (for 9 to 16 year olds) to the Men's and Women's Grade Clubs along with  Shires and Masters cricket (at Macquarie University), if you want a game of cricket, we can find you a spot.

As we commence our 106th season, I wish all new and returning club members a successful and enjoyable season and I urge all players, officials, coaches and family members to become involved in your Club, not just on the field but also in attending its various social functions, and in contributing in appropriate ways to its overall running and well-being. In that way, both individual and collective success and enjoyment is assured.

Good luck to you all.

Andrew Falk

President
