About the Player of the Year Award

The GDCC Cricket Committee has decided to change the format of the prestigious Player of the Year for the 2012/13 season.

The new format will see each player in each team award a 3/2/1 score for the players they thought performed the best in the game they had just completed. The points wil be tallied by the captains or managers/scorers and sent to Geoff Hickman for collation.

As the change has been made after the completion of the second round, the selectors will provide the 3/2/1 scores for these two rounds.

From the end of Round 3 against Northern Districts the players scores will be sent in.

An update of the scores will be provided during the season and then held secret for the last 5 rounds. 

The winner will receive a perpetual trophy and a prize to be determined by the Committee.
